Fetched from Aberdeen – which is a very long way away from home – this amazing vehicle is 8 wheel drive and steers like a tank. Everyone says they want it, but then after a few seconds admits that they cannot work out what they would do with it!
Luckily we had access to steep slippery woodland in which we could use it to retrieve cordwood.
The skid steering was praised up above. It is great fun. However, it does place a load on the wheel bearings, especially on hard surfaces such as tarmac or concrete. Inevitably, this leads to worn bearings. So we had a project to replace all the wheel bearings and adjust the chains to take out the slack……
Now it is back in its natural environment, gathering winter fuuuuuel.
