Sadly Not Flawless
Once we had removed all the interior fittings, we could see what a huge space is contained within the elegant exterior skin.
Sadly, it also became apparent that the floor was rotten in three areas;- under the sink fitting, under the bathroom floor at the rear – and all the way around the perimeter, where the floor is sandwiched between the chassis and the main upper structure. This is a rather important part of the whole trailer!
The joint is covered on the outside by a single layer of aluminium. Clearly this had not been sufficient to prevent leakage or condensation leading to rot. Essentially, the outer 2 inches of floor needed to be replaced!
Luckily, apart from the absolute rear extremity, the chassis was solid.
